ChatGPT Enterprise runs beside Microsoft 365 with no single view
The questions are the ones you already ask of a Team or a SharePoint site: who created it, who has access, what data it reaches, what it costs, and who cleans it up.
Who it is shared with
Custom GPTs, projects and service accounts are shared with people and groups across the workspace. Without an inventory, nobody can say who a given GPT or project actually reaches.
What it can reach
Project connectors wire SharePoint, Slack, Google Drive, Linear and websites into a project. Codex environments decide which repositories Codex can reach.
Who it belongs to
Without a join to Entra ID, a ChatGPT Enterprise seat cannot be read by department or country, or checked against the Microsoft 365 Copilot license the same person holds.

Isolate first, delete second
The preview is planned to include actions on the objects Rencore inventories. Isolating a GPT or project removes its sharing while the owner keeps it, so nothing is deleted before the owner has had a say.

Which ChatGPT plan do we need?
A ChatGPT Enterprise or ChatGPT Edu workspace, with one connection per workspace. ChatGPT Business is excluded by OpenAI, because it has no access to the OpenAI Compliance Platform, and the OpenAI API Platform, the developer side of OpenAI, is out of scope.
Does Rencore read our ChatGPT Enterprise conversations?
No. Rencore keeps metadata only. Message text, attachments and file content are discarded before anything is stored. What it holds is the record around them: who owns a GPT or project, who it is shared with, which connectors and repositories it can reach, and the activity that shows who did what and when.
How far back does the activity history go?
Twelve months. Activity is ingested continuously and kept for 12 months, while OpenAI's own compliance log window is 30 days. A question about who shared a GPT last quarter, or when a service account last acted, can still be answered after the 30 days have passed.
What happens if we are on ChatGPT Business?
ChatGPT Business cannot be connected. OpenAI excludes it because the Business plan has no access to the Compliance Platform, which this coverage depends on. Once your organization runs a ChatGPT Enterprise or Edu workspace, the inventory, identity join and policies on this page apply to it.
How are ChatGPT Enterprise users mapped to Entra ID?
Each ChatGPT Enterprise user, and the GPTs, projects and other objects they own, is related to their Entra ID identity, with department and country. From then on sharing, seats and cost read by department, and a policy can list the users who hold both a ChatGPT Enterprise seat and a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
Does Microsoft Purview already cover ChatGPT Enterprise?
Only in part. Purview sees ChatGPT prompts and responses, but not the inventory of GPTs, projects, apps and sharing, and it offers no actions on those objects. Rencore complements Purview, which keeps its view of prompts and responses, and Entra ID, which stays your identity source: it adds that object inventory and who each object is shared with. The preview is planned to include the actions to isolate, remove or disable what should not be there.
How is ChatGPT Enterprise coverage licensed?
It is included in the AI & Agents module, the optional paid module on the Premium and Enterprise plans, alongside the Microsoft Copilot and agent coverage. There is no separate add-on for ChatGPT Enterprise. The pricing page has the full plan comparison.
