AI agent inventory

An AI agent inventory is a central, current record of every AI agent deployed in an organization, with its owner, the data and tools it can reach and the purpose it serves.

Also known as: agent inventory, agent registry, agent directory

What goes into the inventory

For each agent the useful facts are where it was built, who created it and who owns it today, whether it is published or still a draft, which knowledge sources and actions it uses, who can talk to it and when it was last used. Without that record, questions from security, works councils or auditors turn into manual surveys.

Why it has to be discovered

Agents are created in several places, often by people outside IT, and nobody registers them by hand for long. An inventory that depends on makers filling in a form is out of date within weeks. The reliable approach reads the platforms themselves and refreshes the record continuously, so that new, changed and abandoned agents show up without anyone reporting them.

Where Rencore fits

Rencore scans Copilot Studio agents and SharePoint agents into its inventory, with their environments, knowledge sources, triggers and owners, and reports agent creation by department, the weekly creation trend and weekly agent usage. The same inventory holds the Teams, sites and users the agents depend on.
