Agent 365

Agent 365 is Microsoft's control plane for AI agents, giving organizations a registry of agents with their identities, access and activity, in the same admin tools they use for people.

Also known as: Microsoft Agent 365

What it provides

Agent 365 treats agents like a workforce. Agents are registered with an identity in Microsoft Entra ID, their access can be scoped and their activity observed with Microsoft's security and compliance tools. It also lets administrators allow or block the Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that agents use to reach tools and data.

Where governance goes further

A registry tells you an agent exists. Governance also asks who owns it, whether it is still needed, what it costs and what happens when its owner leaves, and it applies the same questions to the Teams, sites and Power Platform resources the agent depends on.

Agent 365's controls stay in place, and ownership and lifecycle rules sit on top of them.
