Our mission
We believe governance is what lets an enterprise say yes to AI, not the brake on it. We build tools that identify, manage, and mitigate the risks of uncontrolled cloud growth, so our customers can act with confidence.
Rencore in a nutshell
We are a B2B software company providing the software essential for staying in control of Cloud Collaboration, AI, Agent and No-Code/Low-Code services. Our customers rely on our tools to simplify, automate, and accelerate their everyday governance, risk, and compliance challenges, providing end users with a more productive, secure and cost-efficient digital workplace. Our diverse, global customer base ranges from mid-sized businesses to enterprises. Consultancies and managed service providers build their cloud governance and operations services around Rencore Governance.
From Stockholm to a market leader
Every step built the foundation for the next, from two consultants in Sweden to a Munich-based team governing the Microsoft estate. Here is how Rencore grew from a code-quality tool into the governance operating system for the AI-powered digital workplace.
- 2013
Founded in Stockholm
Two SharePoint consultants kept hitting the same problem: the standards and quality of coded customizations in SharePoint varied wildly. Their answer was SPCAF, a code-analysis tool that kept custom code clean and pure (Ren is Swedish for "pure") and laid the foundation for Rencore, built on one conviction: enterprises deserve governance they can actually operate.
- 2015
Moved to Munich
Two years after founding in Stockholm, Rencore relocated its headquarters to Munich, Germany, the Bavarian base the company still operates from today.
- 2021
The SaaS platform launches
As organizations moved to the cloud, Rencore followed with a Microsoft 365 governance platform, one control plane across Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, and signed its first enterprise customers.
- 2025
Funded and validated
Rencore raised $16M in total funding, launched AI Governance, and was recognized by Gartner 30+ times per quarter as governance moved from an afterthought to a board-level priority for AI adoption.
- 2026
Building to scale
A global team of 50+ people governs 2.5M+ users across the Microsoft estate, and now the agents joining it. Same discipline, new objects: who created it, who can reach it, what it touches, and who owns it.
Different backgrounds, one mission
We are a remote-first team of 50+ people across eight countries, connected across time zones and united by one mission.
