SAM does not govern Teams, Exchange, Planner, Entra ID or Power Platform.
Rencore governs 16 Microsoft connectors in one inventory, with the relationships between them.
SAM ships a fixed set of policy types and no custom policy builder.
Rencore runs 150+ built-in policies plus your own, ranked by severity, across every object type.
SAM does not govern the lifecycle of the Copilot Studio agents your makers build.
Rencore inventories Copilot and Copilot Studio agents, shows the data each one can reach, assigns an owner and retires what nobody uses.
SAM does not attribute licence or storage cost to the teams that use it.
Reclaim unused licences and storage, and attribute Copilot and Microsoft 365 spend to the teams that use it.
SAM is native to the SharePoint admin center and included with Microsoft 365 Copilot licences. Restricted access, restricted content discovery and site lifecycle policies are strong controls for SharePoint and OneDrive oversharing.
If your concern is limited to SharePoint and OneDrive, SAM may be enough. If you also need to govern Teams, Exchange, Power Platform and Copilot agents, with custom policies and owner reviews in Microsoft Teams, that is where Rencore fits.
