Rencore governs 16 Microsoft services today, each in one inventory with an owner, a policy and a lifecycle. ShareGate Protect fully covers SharePoint and OneDrive, and covers Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Entra ID and Microsoft 365 Copilot in part. Only Rencore governs Exchange Online, Planner, Viva Engage, Copilot Studio agents, SharePoint agents, Azure, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

No. Protect shows which content Copilot could surface through user permissions, such as open sharing links and broad groups. It does not inventory Copilot Studio agents, name their owners or apply lifecycle policies to them. Rencore inventories Copilot and Copilot Studio agents, shows the data each one can reach, assigns an owner and applies lifecycle policies, alongside the Teams and sites the agents depend on.

ShareGate stores Protect data in the US or the EU, and its help centre states that data processing occurs in the US East region, even for EU data residency. Rencore stores each workspace's data in the Azure region the customer chooses when the workspace is created, including Germany and Switzerland.

ShareGate states that its security program is aligned with the ISO 27001 standard, and we found no published certificate. It states that Protect holds a SOC 2 Type II report. Rencore is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO/IEC 27017:2015, certificate REN-ISMS-20250423, valid until April 2028, and holds a SOC 2 Type 2 report.

Yes. Rencore does not migrate content and does not depend on how content arrived in your tenant. Many teams run a migration with ShareGate Migrate and then use Rencore to govern the estate. Rencore connects to Microsoft 365 through Microsoft Graph, so there is nothing to move.

SharePoint Advanced Management, now included with Microsoft 365 Copilot licences, covers oversharing reports, inactive-site and ownership policies and site access reviews for SharePoint and OneDrive. Purview covers classification and data protection. Rencore complements both with one inventory and one policy engine across Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, Entra ID, Power Platform and Copilot agents, and with reviews that owners complete in Microsoft Teams.

Yes. Rencore extends its AI & Agents governance beyond Microsoft: Claude Enterprise is in preview and ChatGPT Enterprise is coming soon. They are governed in the same place as your Microsoft 365 estate and connected to the Microsoft 365 data they work with, rather than in a separate tool. Microsoft 365 and Copilot remain the generally available core of the platform.
