Unused Licenses

Storage limits
When OneDrive and SharePoint storage reaches 90% capacity, depending on your Microsoft 365 subscription, your storage capacity threshold will increase by default. Knowing your capacity thresholds means you can save on storage costs by addressing your 90% capacity alerts straight away.
Premium licenses
For many cloud services, licensing can change quickly – take Power Platform as an example. To identify additional costs, you want to track new Flows, Power Apps, and APIs that require premium or custom connectors.
Unlicensed OneDrive accounts
On January 27, 2025, Microsoft rolled out a new policy that automatically archives unlicensed OneDrive accounts after 93 days. The costs to manage these archives could be significant. Once archived, accounts and their data will incur additional storage costs and reactivation fees. Identify your unlicensed OneDrive accounts today to prevent unexpected expenses.
Copilot Chat consumption
In early 2025 Microsoft made Copilot Chat free to use for everyone. One big part of Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat: agents. However, the use of some agents is not free of charge and will result in additional pay-as-you-go or pre-paid package costs. Identify and monitor the usage of those Copilot Agents to be able to plan those additional costs accordingly.
