We’re back with a brand new webinar 💥And it’s all about this question: What’s the right pre-migration tool for your project?

This upcoming session with Microsoft MVP Samuel Zuercher is based on the questions we come across in conversation with customers. We want to answer those questions here for all of you:

SMAT vs. PowerShell vs. Third-party tools – what’s the difference?

When you google “SharePoint migration tool”, you will get tons of search results on a few tools that are out there. They all promise one thing: We make your SharePoint migration project successful. We get you to the cloud, or a newer SharePoint version. But with all these tools – how are you supposed to know which one is the right one for your SharePoint migration?

That’s why we decided to bring in our friend Samuel Zuercher to shed light on this question and help you get started with your migration project.

Samuel works as a Senior Consultant at Experts Inside, Switzerland. He is highly skilled in SharePoint with an Experience of over 10 years, knows the heart of Office 365 including Topics like Azure AD and ADFS. In addition he is a Microsoft Certified Trainer since 2009. He speaks about SharePoint IT-Pro topics in a variety of Events all over the world. Since 2011 he is a member of the world wide MVP (Microsoft Most Valuable Professional) family with direct contacts to the product team in Redmond.

What’s the right pre-migration tool for your project?

Together with host Bjoern Erkens, Samuel will first have a closer look at the SharePoint Migration Assessment Tool (SMAT) that Microsoft released a while back to help organizations with their pre-migration analysis. He will then, being a consultant himself, share why so many of his fellow colleagues still write their own PowerShell to analyze farms to get the insights needed to plan a migration project. On top of that there are a variety of third-party tools available that aim to assist organizations planning a migration.

So, how do these pre-migration solutions compare – what are the pros and cons you need to consider picking the right solution? Join Samuel and let him share his comparison of different migration assessment tools to make your decision a little easier.

In this webinar you will learn:

  • When it makes sense to use a tool for your migration planning
  • The pros and cons of SMAT, PowerShell and third-party tools
  • How you can decide which tool matches your migration project

Plus, there will be enough time to ask Samuel your questions at the end of the webinar, so save your seat and we’ll see you in the webinar on June 10, 10 am EDT/4 pm CEST.
